[How-To] Get iOS 4.2 AirPrint Working on Mac OS X 10.6.5

Mac OS X 10.6.5 was supposed to bring AirPrint support for any printer connected to a Mac. Reportedly, Apple has removed AirPrint support from OS X in the final release of 10.6.5 due to some last minute patent issues.

iOS 4.2 AirPrint on Mac OS X 10.6.5

Developer Steven Troughton-Smith has found a workaround to get it working back on the final build of OS X 10.6.5. The process involves copying of three files from pre-release builds of 10.6.5 over to the final build, and then add your printer in Print & Fax preferences pane to get it all working. The files you need are:
/usr/libexec/cups/filter/urftopdf
/usr/share/cups/mime/apple.convs
/usr/share/cups/mime/apple.types
And they can be found in OS X 10.6.5 Build 10H542. Please don’t ask for the download links for the obvious reasons. You can find this build easily on any content sharing hubs.
For those of you who have upgraded from OS X 10.6.5 Build 10H542 to the final build only needs to remove, and then re-add the printer in Print & Fax preferences pane to get it working.
