The newest build of iOS 4.2, 8C5101c, has been released by Apple to it's registered developers, and weighs in at 521MB for our beloved iDevices. Staying on target for the release, it appears that there have been a few additions and tweaks to the latest release.

In particular, the AirPrint features have been detailed a little bit further stating new compatible printer models from the HP Photosmart family, also including a note that iOS 4.2 devices can print directly to printers that have been shared through a Mac or a PC (go figure).

However the notes do state that you will be required to have Mac OS X 10.6.5 beta (available for developers). if your on a Mac or Printer shared through iTunes 10.1 Beta (also available on the iOS developer page) for a PC. So obviously we can expect iTunes 10.1 and Mac OS X 10.6.5 released along with iOS 4.2.

There has also been a new addition to the way that multitasking presents itself when switching through the apps.

The AppStore has finally gained the lovely GameCenter icon, allowing for the same easy browsing we've had on iTunes, indicating which games are compatible with the new Game Center app.

This firmware is of course also compatible with the iPhone (3G, 3GS, 4), iPod Touch (2nd, 3rd, 4th gen) and the iPad. Other than that, keep your eyes peeled for any further updates to whats packed inside the new beta. @ih8sn0w tweeted  "iOS 4.2 Beta expires Friday October 29,2010."

As usual, if your not a developer, and want to keep your jailbreak/unlock, DO NOT USE THIS FIRMWARE. Should I remind you to backup your SHSH blobs?

As for iTunes 10.1 not much to report, except some new additions to Ping.
