New jailbroken users and using SSH, don't forget to change your root password which is "alpine" by default.







  • For BackupHelper software, you just have to go in Preferences and apply a new root password.

Required :

  • a jailbroken iPhone
  • OpenSSH installed
  • Mobile Terminal intalled
  • You can also use Putty, the command center of iTunnel Suite or WinSCP.

  • Start Mobile Terminal on your iPhone
  • Type : su root

  • Type your root password « alpine » then press return

  • Type « passwd » then press return

  • Type your new root password and then press return
  • Type it again and then press return
