This news can concern both versions of Blacksn0w and iPhone 3GS users.
Some users have seen that Blacksn0w works during a certain period with their iPhone 3GS and then one day, the iPhone crashes and reboot in loop.
The issue seems to appear because of a corrupted baseband.
Even with a Custom Firwmare 3.1.2 with Blacksn0w, the fix is not solved !
Then, this only concerns iPhone 3GS with Firmware 3.1.2 and baseband 05.11.07
Here is a method to try to solve this issue. And, if you have not recover your ECID thanks to Saurik, it can avoid you to restore to Firmware 3.1.3 !
Required :
- Open SSH installed on your iPhone 3GS.
- A software like WinSCP or iTunnel Suite.
- Baseband update files
- Transfer with SSH on your iDevice these 3 files in /tmp.
- With iTunnel Suite, start Putty.
- Identify : su root
- Type the password by default : alpine
- Type these following command lines :
- cd /tmp
- chmod 755 BBUpdaterExtreme
- launchctl unload /System/Library/LaunchDaemons/com.apple.CommCenter.plist
- ./BBUpdaterExtreme update -f ICE2_05.11.07.fls -e ICE2_05.11.07.eep
Wait for the update (few minutes) and then reboot your iPhone 3GS by typing "reboot" in Terminal or manually by pressing Home+On buttons together.
